7:55 PM – Avery Mitchell, 37 years old of Altadena was arrested in the area of Lake Avenue and Altadena Drive for drunk in public.

Wednesday, July 24th
Between 8:15 AM and 8:30 AM – A petty theft occurred in the 700 block of New York Drive.  Stolen:  white iPhone 6.
7:35 PM – Damaya Hines, 20 years old of Pasadena and Paulette Newson, 28 years old of Altadena were arrested in the area of Loma Alta Drive and Glenrose Avenue for possession of a controlled substance.
7:35 PM – A vehicle vandalism occurred in the area of El Nido Drive and Ventura Street.  Suspect was identified and taken into custody.

Thursday, July 25th
1:20 AM – A residential burglary occurred in the 600 block of E. Sacramento Street.  Suspect described as a male Hispanic between 16 to 20 years old.  Stolen:  Stihl leaf blower; item was later recovered.
10:51 AM – A package theft occurred in the 1000 block of Morada Place.  Suspect described as a male Black between 190 and 200 lbs.  Stolen:  package containing Amazon Echo plus.

Friday, July 26th
6:16 PM – Imran Puri, 31 years old of Los Angeles was arrested in the area of Lincoln Avenue and Laun Street for possession of a controlled substance.
6:16 PM – Roman Saucillo, 36 years old of Los Angeles was arrested in the area of Lincoln Avenue and Laun Street for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Saturday, July 27th
1:40 AM – A grand theft of a vehicle occurred in the 2900 block of Casitas Avenue.  Suspect has been identified as the victim’s ex-boyfriend.
6:52 PM – A battery occurred in the 2200 block of El Sereno Avenue.  Suspect has been identified.
7:30 PM – Haywood Crenshaw, 40 years old of Pasadena was arrested in the 70 block of Mountain View Street for public intoxication.

Los Angeles-based, ReLoVe is a reggae soul band sharing a message of hope & love through LIVE music! Authentic and uplifting classic hits are blended with their own original sound, and delivered by a spirited multi-cultural band of friends.
Beloved songs from Bob Marley to Aretha Franklin keep their audiences smiling and singing along!  Glenn Jost drives the rhythmic heartbeat playing drums standing up, while sharing lead vocals with the beautiful soul of Ms. Sonia Harley.  Colombian producer keyboardist Victor Bender and guitarist Steve Zukowsky play off the rhythms and harmonies, while bassist Maazi Jay effortlessly solidifies the groove.  All musicians are nationally credited professionals performing with ReLoVe throughout their Southern California summer tour.
The band signed an exclusive music licensing agreement with DL Music Publishing in Los Angeles and is slated to release their music worldwide on AWAL Record Label and Distribution Company headquartered in London, UK.  The ReLoVe upcoming EP release entitled ‘Music on a Mission!’ includes songs layered with vintage sounds and harmonies that span a 30-year journey across America.  Styles crafted from reggae, soul, and swirling retro-pop, articulate their uniquely multi-cultural musical history as friends together from different places in time! Marjory L. Jacobs promoted to Captain

Marjory L. Jacobs promoted to Captain
 
Selected by community leaders, County representatives and approved by Sheriff Alex Villanueva, Marjory Jacobs has been promoted to Captain of Altadena Sheriff’s Station. With a long and varied career in law enforcement, Jacobs fulfilled all the requirements of the Sheriff’s new Captain promotion process to be selected for this position.
 
Jacobs started her career in law enforcement with El Segundo Police Department in 1991 before transferr...ing to the Sheriff’s Department in 1996 as a deputy at Pitchess Detention Center’s South Facility. She worked in several custody facilities as well as Palmdale Station and Force Training.
As a Sergeant, Jacob’s roles varied from line sergeant in a custody facility to field sergeant at multiple stations before serving as the bridge watch commander at Sheriff’s Communications Center.
When she promoted to lieutenant, Jacobs again took on a wide variety of duties. These included custody and station watch commander, operations lieutenant, Jail Transition Team lieutenant, Division Aide for Custody Services Division and most re- cently, Acting Captain at Pico Rivera Station.
 
Jacobs is actively involved in the law enforcement community as well as the communities in which she has served. She is the Vice President of Women Leaders of Law Enforcement of LA County, and a mentor for the El Rancho High School Team Court in Pico Rivera, just to name a few.
Always adding to her educational resume, Jacobs has an associate’s degree in General Education from College of the Canyons and a bachelor’s of science in Occupational Studies from California State University, Long Beach. She also is a graduate of the Supervisory Leadership Institute, Middle Management Course, Southern California Leadership Network, and the FBI National Academy.
When she is off-duty, Jacobs enjoys weight lifting, cycling, cooking, reading and spending time with her family, especially her sons.
 
As the unit commander of Altadena Station, Jacobs will oversee approximately 120 personnel, including a team of volunteer reserve deputies trained in mountain rescue who respond to calls in the mountains above the city. The station serves a diverse community, including businesses, residential neighborhoods and parts of the San Gabriel Mountains. Its jurisdiction spans over 8 square miles, including parts of unincorporated Pasadena. Jacobs will succeed Captain Vicky Stuckey, who retired in May, 2019.

FLOYD & the FLYBOYS is a nine piece band whose line-up includes vocals/percussion, guitar/vocals, keyboards/vocals, bass/vocals, drums, and a horn section consisting of trumpet, trombone, tenor/alto saxophones, and baritone sax.
 
Floyd & the Flyboys’ music reflects the influence of traditional blues, R&B, soul, roots rock, New Orleans second line, gospel and jazz.  The band’s extensive repertoire spans eight decades, and includes a choice mix of classic covers, rare gems, and award-winning original songs. 
 
A list of band member credits reads like a Who’s Who of the music industry, including artists such as Ray Charles, Tower of Power, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder, Lyle Lovett, Brian Setzer, the Eagles, Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown, The Four Tops, Elvin Bishop, Spencer Davis, Sting, The Coasters, Louis Jordan, Brothers Johnson, Chaka Kahn & Rufus, Buddy Miles, The Drifters, Lou Rawls, Buddy Rich, Johnny “Guitar” Watson, Don Henley, Narada Michael Walden, Little Richard and many others.

The versatility of the multi-talented group, Blue Breeze Band, will lull you into a fun groove with the sounds of Motown, R&B, Soul, & Funk music. Experiencing the Blue Breeze Band is like Earth Wind & Fire meets Aretha Franklin and Bruno Mars… A genuine high energy Soul R&B Funk explosion! Blue Breeze fills the air with funky soul and rhythms that make every-body move!
The Blue Breeze Band was formed in the late 90’s and is comprised of talented musicians who have come together in order to forge a relationship with you, their listeners, through 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s & 2000 – 2019 heart and soul dance music.
Blue Breeze has acquired an impressive repertoire of performances for audiences from different walks of life from all over the world.  To name a few, they have performed for former President Bill Clinton, the United States Armed Services in Okinawa, Japan, 2014 NCS National Championship Pregame Tailgate Party at the Rose Bowl (in front of 7,500 fans), 2015 University of Oregon Tailgate party at the Rose Bowl, 2018 University of Georgia Tailgate party at the Rose Bowl, and have headlined festivals throughout southern California. Blue Breeze has appeared as musicians in the Warner Brothers’ feature film Why Do Fools Fall in Love - (The Frankie Lymon story), in a national televised E*TRADE Commercial and in (2) music videos featuring Denmark Pop Star Burhan G. During 2018 the Blue Breeze Band kicked-off the 2018 Soulful Summer Nights concert series at the Mission San Juan Capistrano, closed the 2018 Santa Barbara Summer Concert Series and performed for the HBO “VEEP” Season 7 Wrap Party. 2019 is off to a fantastic start as members of the band can be seen in a music video featuring a British Pop Star “Rita Ora.”
