The Mighty Burnt Bacon, Stax Style Soul Band will be performing
Saturday August 1, 2015 at 7:00pm. Join us for the FREE
concert at Farnsworth Park, located at 586 Mount Curve Ave.,
Altadena 91001.
A Message from Lanie:
Greetings! Over the years, I've been fortunate enough
to have enjoyed a great deal of success in my musical career, playing
with the likes of The Black Beverly Heels (Wildly popular hard Rock Band
from LA), Psychostar (LA, popular all female hard rock band
featuring former members of the legendary Betty Blowtorch
band), Exene Cervenka'sOriginal Sinners
(featuring Exene from seminal LA punk bands X, The Knitters and
Auntie Christ), Snap-Her (infamous all female punk band based out of LA)
and Whistlebait (the world's first all feline Rock-A-billy band
riding the cusp of the early 90's wave of Rock-A-Billy revival).
Despite all those wonderful memories, I felt a need to get back to
my roots – the music that my parent's introduced me to while I was
growing up - and the music that makes me the most happy. In 2012, I
dropped everything else in the world and formed The MIGHTY Burnt Bacon.
This band has one goal and that is to bring this magical
music to the people - whatever it may take! The band features
several accomplished female performers including Lisa B. Sassy on vocals
(formerly of Klymaxx / "Meeting in the Ladies Room"
fame), Norris Bacho (P-Funk) and myself on drums, as well
as assorted other strong female players. We do this because we truly love
it - and that makes a huge difference in our performances and sets us
apart from other similar bands.
