RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM
LATE TONIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY AFTERNOON FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY OVER
VENTURA COUNTY AND THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY MOUNTAINS...AND THE SANTA CLARITA
AND SAN FERNANDO VALLEYS...
Northeast winds will increase late tonight, peaking early Sunday morning through late Sunday afternoon with gusts of 30 to 50 mph over Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. Widespread minimum humidities in the 8 to 15 percent range are expected during this time, with afternoon highs in the 80`s to mid 90s. This will result in critical Red Flag conditions for wind prone areas of Los Angeles and Ventura Counties on Sunday. * Winds...Northeast 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. * Relative Humidity...8-15 percent. * Temperature...Maximums between 82 and 93. * Impacts...If fire ignition occurs, conditions may be favorable for extreme fire behavior which would threaten life and property. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of strong winds...low relative humidity...and war temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior. Use extreme caution with potential fire ignition sources. *Chaney Trail and Millard Campgrounds will remain closed tonight through Monday 11/18/19 morning. |
