Crime Blotter for the week of May 31, 2015
Sunday, May 31st
1:45 AM – A vehicle vandalism occurred in the 200 block of Parkman
Street. Suspect(s) shattered the rear window with a pipe.
12:00 PM – A petty theft from an unlocked vehicle occurred at Ralph’s,
2270 Lake Avenue. Property stolen: Handicapped placard.
Monday, June 1st
12:56 AM – Gregory Drake was arrested in the area of Lake Avenue and
Rio Grande Street for being under the influence of a controlled substance
and possession of drug paraphernalia.
12:10 AM – An assault with a vehicle occurred in the 900 block of
Dolores Drive when a theft victim reached into the suspect’s vehicle to
retrieve his property. The suspect started the vehicle and began
driving. The suspect accelerated the vehicle dragging the victim
approximately 30 ft. The victim was able to free himself from the
suspect’s vehicle. The suspect is described as a white male, 20
years, 6’1” – 6’2”, 160-180, short spikey hair, clean shaven, dark
colored shirt, driving a newer model black Honda Civic with paper
plates. The suspect vehicle was last seen southbound on Lake
Av. Property Stolen: black Garmin GPS, currency.
1:00 PM – A package theft occurred in the 1700 block of Sierra Madre
Villa. Item was delivered by USPS. Property stolen:
gift cards.
Tuesday, June 2nd
11:32 PM – Joel Mijangose was arrested in the 400 block from of
Figueroa Drive for spousal assault.
Wednesday, June 3rd
7:50 AM – A petty theft occurred at Eliot Middle School, 2184 N. Lake
Avenue. Property stolen: lunch box and cell phone. (Suspect
identified and items recovered).
Thursday, June 4th
7:03 PM – Charles Towns was arrested in the area of Woodbury Road and
Raymond Avenue for possession of a controlled substance.
Friday, June 5th
12:00 PM – A grand theft of a purse occurred in the 400 block of E.
Terrace Street. Property stolen: Louis Vuitton purse.
2:58 PM – Sally Schiekevitz was arrested in the area of Sunset Ridge
Road and Loma Alta Drive for being under the influence of a controlled
substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
9:26 PM – Deputies responded to the 2300 block of Glenrose Avenue
regarding shots fired. Upon arrival, deputies contacted an
informant who advised that several shots were fired and a Nissan Altima
was last seen leaving the area northbound on Glenrose Avenue. No
injuries. Investigation is on-going.
Saturday, June 6th
No significant incidents to report.
