- ... POSSIBLE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ON TUESDAY...
- A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM DEVELOPING OVER THE EASTERN PACIFIC WILL APPROACH THE AREA ON TUESDAY. AS THIS SYSTEM MOVES TOWARDS THE AREA TONIGHT AND TUESDAY... IT IS EXPECTED TO ENTRAIN MOISTURE FROM THE REMNANTS OF TROPICAL STORM BLANCA... BRINGING THE THREAT OF PRECIPITATION TO THE AREA.
- AS MOISTURE FROM TROPICAL STORM BLANCA STREAMS INTO THE AREA... THE THREAT OF SHOWERS WILL INCREASE ACROSS THE AREA DURING THE DAY ON TUESDAY... WITH THE SHOWER THREAT PEAKING IN THE AFTERNOON. IN ADDITION... THERE IS THE POSSIBILITY OF ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPING AS ATMOSPHERIC INSTABILITY INCREASES. THE THREAT OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE INTO THE EVENING... BEFORE ENDING TUESDAY NIGHT.
- ANY THUNDERSTORMS THAT DEVELOP WILL BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING HEAVY RAIN... GUSTY WINDS AND DANGEROUS CLOUD-TO-GROUND LIGHTNING. MINOR STREET FLOODING WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE WITH ANY HEAVY RAIN.
- AT THIS TIME... CONFIDENCE IN THE EXACT AMOUNT OF RAINFALL EXPECTED IS LOW. HOWEVER... INITIAL ESTIMATES ARE FOR MOST AREAS TO RECEIVE BETWEEN 0.10 AND 0.50 INCHES OF RAINFALL... WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE WITH ANY THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT. VENTURA AND LOS ANGELES COUNTIES WILL LIKELY RECEIVE THE HIGHEST TOTALS.
- RESIDENTS OF SOUTHWEST CALIFORNIA SHOULD MONITOR THE LATEST NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PRODUCTS FOR THIS DEVELOPING WEATHER SITUATION.
